Winter Wedding Bowral - Danielle & Luke

Winter weddings in Bowral can be cold but on a clear day it’s a stunning time of year to get married – you just need to rug up! Thankfully Danielle & Luke had great weather for their beautiful Southern Highlands winter wedding 🙂

Luke and the boys got ready at Peppers Craigieburn and looked very sharp in their blue suits. The rooms are Craigieburn with the balcony access are great for any preparation photos. Danielle & the girls were also at Peppers and had the balcony room on the second floor. It’s a smallish room but had nice natural light and the balcony is a good extra area (as long as your guests don’t see you!).

There were lots of laughs from Danielle and her sisters – it’s such a great moment in a wedding day and is often when everyone starts getting teary knowing the ceremony has finally arrived. We then we had an awesome moment of her Dad seeing Danielle in her wedding dress for the first time. Just beautiful. The tie Danielle gave him with such a sweet message embroidered on it was a guaranteed tear jerker.

The ceremony was held at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Mittagong – it’s an old and beautiful looking church with plenty of space and a bright light interior. Guests arrived and mingled outside where there is lots of room. There were definitely a few nerves before the start of the ceremony but Danielle & Luke were soon married and pretty stoked when walking back down the aisle as husband & wife.

We had ample time for mingling outside the church and this is a great chance to get some candid photos with your guests so I highly recommend allowing time in the schedule for this and not rushing off too soon. A group photo is also a good option here as all the guests are together and the light is good.

For the bridal party photos we headed to nearby Lake Alexandra and also an open grass field before arriving at Peppers Craigieburn. Peppers is one my favourite wedding venues in the Southern Highlands – it has lovely formal gardens, the golf course, and several old buildings including the main manor house entrance, which all make for lots of different photo locations.

Check out the photo highlights below – I love how the bridal party had such a fun time during the photos and this always makes it easy for me to capture plenty of smiles and some great candid shots. The grass field photos are fantastic and we used the soft winter light to perfection 🙂

The reception room at Peppers looked amazing with long tables with seating for around 150 guests and beautiful details & flowers. Check out the awesome chairs for Danielle & Luke too. It was a great night with touching speeches and lots of fun dancing. We even had time for some night shots too, so all in all an awesome day!
